Standard Schnauzer Playdate on Saturday, July 24th
10am-Noon

Come out and meet your fellow Standard Schnauzer Club members and get your dog some exercise!
These are some pictures from a recent outing of 7 local Standard Schnauzers!

The airport dog park is on an 80-acre (HUGE!) parcel of land owned by the Metropolitan Arport Commission and situated in the northwest corner of the airport property. (For you aviation buffs, the southern park fence borders the end of Runway 12R.) The property is not entirely fenced in, but there are many natural boundaries. The dogs do very well with the pack mentality of staying together.
Because the dog park is not managed by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, an off-leash permit is not required to use it. However, there are no services or management provided (read no trash cans or water). Owners are expected to pick up after their dogs and take it with them for disposal off park grounds.
Directions:
Take the Crosstown Highway (Hwy 62) to the 28th Street Exit. Turn south toward the airport and go to the end of the street. You’ll see the MAC offices on the right. The dog park is the grassy area between the MAC building and the runways. You may park along the street or in the MAC parking lot. Approximate location and boundaries of the park are shown below.
